Glycine max. Warm season. 95 days. Sow after last chance of spring frost. Growing the perfect snack in your garden is easy! These sweet beans are nutritious, protein-filled, and easy to grow. Boil whole pods, pop the beans out, and eat them like candy! Adults and kids love to gobble them up for a healthful treat. Once you try them, they'll become a garden staple every year. Edamame is no longer an ancient Chinese secret or just a specialty food in Asian cuisine. Hungry gardeners and food lovers worldwide have discovered the joy of a warm, salted bowl of edamame beans (popular in Japan) for snacking, and how the shelled beans add great flavor and extra protein to rice or pasta dishes and salads. The BeSweet 2001 variety is high in isoflavones, and was bred for its excellent yields and the sweet flavor of its large beans. The 24 inch tall, well-branched plants contain multitudes of pods with 2-3 beans in each, and grow well in a sunny location with warm soil and good drainage. You can never have enough edamame beans on hand. Sow seeds every two weeks to ensure a continuous harvest from late summer to frost. Beans can be blanched and frozen, so you'll never waste a single bean! Instructions for harvesting and storing are inside packet. This packet plants two 10 foot rows. We are dedicated to inspiring & educating the gardener in you. That's why we've put even more helpful information inside. Illustrated by Marjorie Leggitt. More info inside. No GMOs. All our seeds are untreated. www.botanicalinterests.com.
